Alma Ayon

Alma Ayon is a meditation teacher, Contemplative Artist, translator, and longtime Buddhist practitioner.  Alma has studied and trained under the guidance of different esteem teachers such as H.H.Dalai Lama, Khandro Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Mingyu Rinpoche, Zen Master Sunim, and others. She is a longtime disciple of Alan Wallace from which she has received extensive teachings on Shamatha, Vipashyana, Dream Yoga, and Dzogchen.

Alma has done several retreats in the traditions of Tibetan, Theravada, and Zen Buddhism, and she has led retreats all over the world. She took part in The Shamatha Project, a Longitudinal Study of the Effects of Intensive Meditation Practice on Attention, Emotional Regulation, and Neural Correlates.  Alma is a certified trainer of ‘cultivating emotional balance,’ a program created at the request of H.H. the Dalai Lama by Alan Wallace and psychologist Paul Ekman, that uses a full spectrum of meditation techniques to achieve emotional self-regulation. Alma is a founder of Dharma centre in Mexico and spends much of her time leading CEB trainings, Shamatha and Viashayana retreats, and teaching international courses on meditation and Contemplative Art.
