Sunday Evening Meditations

with Abigail Meadows and Dr. Petrina Barson

Sunday evening meditations

A warm invitation to join us for our weekly Sunday evening meditation at 5.00 pm in Clifton Hill.

On Sunday evenings from 5:00 to 6:30, in association with the Centre for a Compassionate Society, The Contemplary holds a weekly gathering for meditation and shared reflection led by Abigail Meadows. The meditations offer a space for the cultivation of mindfulness, presence, equanimity and non-judgement. The period of group reflection following the meditations is an opportunity to integrate practice and everyday life by bringing these same qualities into the interpersonal domain.

The gathering is held in person every Sunday of the month, except for the 4th Sunday of the month, when it  takes place on Zoom as the monthly compassion meditation with Dr Petrina Barson.

Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome, as are people of any religious or non-religious outlook. If sitting upright on a cushion is difficult for you, there will be chairs, as well as space for people to meditate lying down in the supine position

When: Sundays, 5 – 6:30 pm

Where: Chapel of Hope, Community Church of St Mark, 100 Hodgkinson St, Clifton Hill. The chapel can be a little hard to find. It is accessed by walking up the external stairs at the back of the Church premises. To find the stairs, walk down the corridor between the Church building and the Aikido hall next door.

On the 4th Sunday of the month, the compassion meditation will be held on Zoom.
